NutriChef – Healthy Recipes (“NutriChef”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use our mobile application, how we use it, and the choices you have.

By using the app, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

2. Data We Collect

We aim to collect only what is necessary to operate and improve the app.

• Information you provide (e.g., dietary preferences, saved favorites, recipe notes, feedback you send us).
• Usage data (e.g., screens viewed, features used, taps, session duration, in-app events) to help us improve performance and content relevance.
• Device & technical data (e.g., device model, OS version, language, country/region, app version, IP address, crash logs, and resettable identifiers such as IDFA/GAID).
• Data from third parties if you interact with our analytics or advertising partners as described below.

We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal data, nor do we require you to create an account to use core features.

3. How We Use Your Data

• Provide, maintain, and improve the app and its features.
• Personalize content (e.g., show relevant recipes based on your preferences).
• Monitor performance, fix bugs, and prevent fraud or misuse.
• Measure the effectiveness of our content and (if enabled) advertising.
• Respond to your requests and support inquiries.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

4. Legal Bases (EEA/UK)

Where GDPR/UK GDPR applies, we process data on the following bases: (i) performance of a contract (to provide the app), (ii) our legitimate interests (to improve and secure the app), (iii) consent (for personalized ads/analytics where required), and (iv) legal obligations.

You may withdraw consent at any time in your device settings (see Section 6) or by contacting us (Section 13).

5. When We Share Your Data

• Service providers that help us with analytics, crash reporting, hosting, and support.
• Advertising partners (if enabled) to deliver and measure ads using device identifiers.
• Legal & safety reasons (e.g., to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, or protect rights and safety).
• Business transfers (e.g., merger, acquisition). Your data may be transferred as part of the transaction.
• Aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you.

6. Advertising & Analytics

We may use third-party partners for analytics and (optionally) advertising. These partners may collect or receive device and usage data to provide their services, subject to their own policies.

Opt-outs & controls: On iOS, go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking to control app tracking permissions, and you can reset the Advertising Identifier. On Android, go to Settings > Privacy > Ads to reset your Advertising ID and opt out of personalized ads.

7. Data Retention

We keep data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or allowed by law. We may retain aggregated or de-identified information for analytics and safety.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your data, to object or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent.

California (CCPA/CPRA): We do not sell your personal information for money. If we use advertising identifiers, this may be considered “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can opt out via your device settings (see Section 6) or by contacting us (Section 13). You also have rights to know, delete, and correct your information.

9. Children’s Privacy

The app is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA/UK where consent is required). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided data, please contact us so we can delete it.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

11. International Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for such transfers.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version in the app and/or at the hosting link you provide. The “Effective date” above indicates when this Policy last changed.
